W E L C O M E S Y O U
Our Door
Is Wide Open
We affirm that God has made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent Jesus Christ to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near.

We believe our lives are guided best through prayer, worship, reflection on scripture, social responsibility, and care for the earth.

We like questions -They open the door to discussions. As members of the Anglican Communion, we believe questions encourage us to come to understandings about God prompted by heart, soul, and mind.

Holy Communion –
The Lord’s Supper
All baptized persons (including children at their parents’ discretion) are welcome to receive communion. You may receive communion as
both bread and wine or as either bread or wine only. If you choose not to receive the cup of wine or the bread or desire a blessing instead of communion, please cross your arms over your chest as a sign to the priest of your desire.

FELLOWSHIP:
Dear Friends in Christ,
This is to remind you that this Sunday, May 17 we begin our trial format for fellowship after worship on the third Sundays of each month. Your vestry and I decided that rather than having a meal, we would simply have coffee and donuts on the third Sundays, as we did when we had our ministry fair last fall.
The reasons for this are many. We have noticed that newcomers and visitors are reluctant to join us for our meals, a number of parishioners rarely if ever participate, and that most of us tend to sit with the same people each time. It is our hope that this new format will allow us to have greater fellowship with one another and get to know each other better.
We are going to try this for the next three months. After that the vestry will reflect and make a decision for the future.

RICE & BEANS MINISTRY
Please donate food staples or funds (denote “Rice and Beans” on memo line) prior to food distributions every third Saturday. The next distribution will be9/20/2025. Thanks in advance! We are also collecting gently used coats and blankets for the winter months. If you have these please place them in the parish hall.

DEVELOPING LITURGICAL LAY LEADERS IN OUR CONGREGATIONS

Why?
By virtue of our baptism, we are all Christian ministers. The Holy Spirit authorizes and empowers every baptized person to carry on various ministries for the good of and on behalf of the congregation. For some Christians, this means being called to ordained ministry. For most of us, this means we become actively involved in lay ministry or ministries.
Discerning and Identifying People seeking to increase their participation in the life of their local congregation may be interested in pursuing the licensing process for certain ministries. The priest-in-charge (or in churches without a priest in-charge, the Senior Warden) may complete this discernment by conversations with members of the congregation, or a congregational discernment team may be chosen to facilitate this process. Congregations are encouraged to seek licensed ministers that reflects the diversity of membership in the congregation.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED THE OFFICE HAS THE APPLICATION FORMS YOU NEED!

The Bible

Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. (From the Book of Common Prayer, p. 236)
Holy Scripture is our foundation, understood through tradition and reason, containing all things necessary for salvation. Our worship is filled with Scripture from beginning to end. The Episcopal Church takes reading the Bible very seriously. Approximately 70% of the Book of Common Prayer comes directly from the Bible, and Episcopalians read more Holy Scripture in Sunday worship than almost any other denomination in Christianity.

The Book of Common Prayer
The Book of Common Prayer is a treasure chest full of devotional and teaching resources for individuals and congregations, but it is also the primary symbol of our unity. We, who are many and diverse, come together in Christ through our worship, our common prayer.

Based originally on the Thomas' Cranmer's First Book of Common Prayer in 1549, Anglican Christians around the globe still use some variation of the corporate prayers written for the newly formed Church of England. In The Episcopal Church, our most recent revision is the 1979 Book of Common Prayer which you can download in either English or Espanol.
